Our aim is providing a desktop virtual reality tool that employs a virtual robot to interact with the child through a social skill training programme.

The social skill training programme aims to train and enhance imitation, emotion recognition and intransitive gestures of children with ASD.

The training programme is a replication of a successful work done by physical robots to train the social skills of children with ASD.

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Greenwich, London. I am conducting a research related to autism and how assistive technology can enhance their social skills.

As robot-based interventions for children with ASD are difficult for many families to access due to high cost and its efficient use requires being monitored by a technician or professionals, I am providing a tool that is accessible and can be easily used by parents and teachers to practice scenarios that aim to enhance the social skills of children with ASD.

The developed tool targets three social skills: imitation, emotion recognition and intransitive gesture.
